Le Melograne - TORGIANO

Enjoyed an “in-house” dining experience as part of our stay at the resort. Whilst the dining room was a bit empty of patrons due to the majority of guests enjoying the glorious evening weather, the ambience was delightful. The menu was offer in plenty of choice with local products and tastes featuring. Matched with appropriately selected wines, the entire experience was only made more enjoyable by the personal tour of the wine cellar, with the happiest of chaps, waiter in chief “Danny”. Good luck if you can fit dessert in! I imagine this dining room would be absolutely cosy in the cooler months and the adjoining lounge area, perfect for a after dinner drink beside the fire.

The food was a lovely surprise at all levels. There were amuse bouches in several forms, theatre in the delivery of the steak tartar and rack of lamb that melted in your mouth, combined with attentive service. Not to be missed if you are in the area.

This was the best meal we had in Umbria. We have had many meals throughout the region and this was by far the best. The head waiter was great, his wine and dinner suggestions were spot on. Big thumbs up to the chef and staff.

La cena è stata fantastica, i piatti ben presentati dallo Chef Salvatore Andrea Perretti. Gli antipasti includono foie gras, battuta di chianina, uovo CBT con fonduta di pecorino di Bettona e tartufo nero, bao al vapore con pulled di maialino, cipolla rossa di Cannara e parmigiana di melanzane. Per i primi, c'erano risotto alla rapa rossa con burro salato di Normandia, formaggio blu di bufala e nocciole di Bevagna, e spaghettone Verrigni al pomodoro con pane atturrato, olive e capperi. Come secondo, guancia di manzo al rubesco con purea di patate al rafano e chips di topina. Il pre-dessert era a base di limone, sedano e mela verde, mentre il dolce era delizioso. Il servizio è stato eccellente e il tutto è stato accompagnato dai vini di Ortimi. Complimenti a Il Nostro Baba'.

Had dinner there breakfast too). The food was very good. All of Italy seems to serve a lot of food...here included. The wait staff were nice, good.
