The Italian Job - Torbay

Ordered from The Vindaloo for the first time. Ordered a Lamb rezala which came with a naan bread, a tandoori mixed grill which came with a vegetable curry, naan and sauce, poppadoms and samosas. Whilst there was nothing exactly wrong with the curry, for me it was missing something. The samosas tasted OK, but not quite right, the poppadoms tasted slightly different to any poppadom I’ve had before. Whilst it was ‘alright’ it was also a bit ‘meh’. Guess I’ll just have to keep looking!

Very poor service this evening, placed an order on just eat , expecting delivery in about an hour. It arrived after one and three quarter hours, only just warm . And to top it off the starters were missing so another long 45 minute wait, it arrived cold and very greasy. Would Never order from them agin . Order at your own risk .

I ordered tandoori half chicken and a portion of chips the chips are the best in torbay huge portion amazing chips 10/10. Tandoori chicken was excellent and lots of additions i don tlike naan bread so swapped for poppadums amazing 10/10

I’ve been ordering from Vindaloo for so many years, way before Just Eat. Tonight ordered a meal for two at over £50. But. I ordered and paid for a naan. Not included. Buy a biro and tick the items off. Don’t say I should have called. it isn’t rocket science. I ordered and paid £2 for a couple of poppadoms. You sent three. Thanks. They were all broken up and all stale. Let me choose if I want broken and/or stale. £1 each for two popadom s means you can fry them freshly and deliver them whole. Not stale and broken up. Asked for onion salad instead of green salad. Costs less or no more. Ignored. Two salads that we didn’t need instead. Tandoori Mixed Grill everything overly pre cooked and completely dry and completely lifeless and inedible. Binned. Ordered Butter Chicken and Tandooris Chicken Masala. Both nice and a bit flavourless and sweet, but the only difference was one was red and one yellow. I asked for a veg curry to be substituted by a daal. It was thanks. Was it worth £52? No. With virtually no effort, could it be better? Yes. Will this feedback change anything. No. I don’t think any of these failings would take any real effort to correct.

Not overall impressed with our take out. Only Indian open on a Monday in Paignton, on holiday down there so took a chance. Like many I think going in there as was busy but no where else to go. Curry was Ok but not very tasty, rice and naan OK, chips inedible, greasiest chips I’ve ever been served!
