Palace - Torbay

Good portion sizes, lovely and hot with a good choice. Restaurant Staff were lovely, so helpful with nothing too much trouble.

Cheesiest vegetable lasagne I have ever eaten. I'm not attaching a value to that, just stating it as a fact.

Just been to the palace as treat....will certainly go again. Everything from the rooms to the food, atmoshere, staff etc made it a lovely stay and at a very reasonable price. All covid restrictions were dealt with in a clear but not overwhelming manner and...the staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and as I had told them I needed gluten free this was already dealt with and our meals were made even more special by Paul, our delightful waiter. Our rooms were clean, spacious and with a super view of the sea front... which was also a good walk before breakfast. Will definately be visiting again!

Having just returned from a night stay I can say the Palace Hotel is run very well and very efficiently. The rooms are a tad on the dated side, but all facilities work and everything was clean. the only thing i could find wrong...in the rooms was the heat, its very hot, the radiator was off but the heat hits you as you walk in. The only thing we found was the towel rail in the bathroom was heated and we couldn't turn it off so we just opened the bathroom window and kept the door shut to prevent the room heating up too much while we were out. There is only room servicing if you ask for it due to the current situation with but there are plenty of sanitiser stations all round and the staff are very good wearing masks and keeping the place clean at all times. The breakfast was excellent and the choices were wide and varied, i think everyone will find something to eat. The evening meal for me is where this place shines, Starter, Sorbet, Mains, Dessert, Cheese and Biscuits , Coffee .... The food is awesome and well worth staying in for , if after the courses you are not full, well you should be , I never managed all of the courses, normally just having starter sorbet mains and dessert. I would like to thank All the staff at the Palace especially Sue Charles and Kaba(spelling for everything they did for us during our stay.

Food good, but staff lack training due to a poor Restaurant Manager. He just didn't have much shape about him.
