Black Dog Barbque In Historic Harley Davidson, Topeka

The barbecue was excellent, and I really liked the atmosphere. We'll definitely be returning!

During our visit to Kansas in September 2021 for a family wedding in the Topeka area, we discovered this restaurant online. The food exceeded our expectations! The meat was fantastic, especially thanks to their amazing BBQ sauce, and the sides were delicious as well. My husband raved about the potatoes, while I thought the beans were the best I’ve ever had. There were two friendly guys working behind the counter who were really helpful as we made our choices. We can’t wait to return because we’re almost out of the BBQ sauce we purchased – it was that delicious!

The staff member serving the meat had a bit of an attitude. He warned us to hurry up and eat before they ran out of meat. The experience seemed more about the hype than anything else, and the portions were small and overpriced. When it comes to barbecue, Kansas City truly stands out. It's clear why this place only operates for three hours a day!

Breakfast review: Omelet, biscuits and gravy and cheez taters. Everything was good, with a nice flavor. We really liked the soft biscuits and quality cheez taters. Gravy was a bit greasy.

This is a fantastic place to explore. Although the museum was closed on the day I visited, the showroom is brimming with history. I left feeling very satisfied!
