T.c. Wheelers Pizzeria - Tonawanda

This is the best pizza in the northern towns. However, if you're sensitive, it's best to order your food to go. Having grown up here, I've noticed that the locals at the bar can be unfriendly unless they recognize you. You might encounter some dirty looks and territorial regulars, which is unfortunate because the food is truly amazing.

This is a solid spot for happy hour, featuring a few outdoor tables and a private room for gatherings. The clientele is mostly local. While the draft beer selection is somewhat limited, the options available are quite good. The wings are outstanding. The pizza and sandwiches looked appealing and seemed popular, although I didn't sample them this time. I definitely plan to return and try more dishes. The staff is very friendly and enjoyable to interact with. On my subsequent visits, I had the French Onion Soup, which was fantastic—full of flavor, perfectly broiled cheese, and loaded with onions. I also tried a small cheese pizza, which was excellent as well. Just a heads up: the single slices can sometimes be overcooked. Sarah behind the bar provides top-notch service and ensures a great experience; it wouldn’t be the same without her.

We order from this restaurant regularly, and the food is usually fantastic. However, during our most recent visit, we encountered some issues. We placed our order in advance through their website and arrived at the designated time, but it was clear they weren't prepared. I overheard staff arguing in the back about having to substitute someone else’s pizza with ours because they were behind schedule. While I don’t mind a pizza swap, the bigger problem was with the wings. We had ordered a party pizza along with 50 wings, but the wings were drenched in grease—so much so that about a cup spilled onto my wife during the drive, and the rest ended up all over my sister-in-law’s counter. To top it off, they forgot the BBQ sauce. They really need to reconsider their packaging for larger orders.

Besides the really good looking andmouth drooling food, their portion sizes are beyond generous. Asked for extra oil with my chicken parm sub and they didn?thesitate to really make sure I got it. The pizza roll had an endless gooey cheese that blended well with the ham andpepperoni. This is a place I?d come back to again and again, at the bar, in the restaurant or take out.
