Ocean Organics - Toms River

During our visit on the way to the state park by the beach, we enjoyed vegan tacos, a juice, and a smoothie at this restaurant. Everything was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the back garden overlooking an estuary. We even had the pleasure of hearing a white-eyed vireo and spotting an osprey. We also had the opportunity to meet the owner and two former employees who had returned for a visit. Everyone was extremely friendly. Although the restaurant now serves meat, they still offer a full vegan menu.

(Original review from 5/8/24): This vegan restaurant and juice bar has been operating for 12 years and is really awesome. We tried the Hemp Protein and Pineapple Pipeline smoothies, as well as a BBQ jackfruit coconut bacon sandwich. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was cute. The restaurant abruptly changed from being vegan to now offering "organic grass-fed burgers" and eggs. According to their comments on Instagram, they stated that they received no support from vegans and vegan influencers never shared their posts. It seems they expected their customers to promote their new menu items for them. When I expressed my disappointment about the change on their Instagram post, my comment was deleted. I tried commenting again and offered to help them return to a vegan menu, but I was blocked. I had been a loyal customer for almost a decade, so it is disappointing to see this change.

Writing this review so nobody is mislead with their old reviews saying they’re a fully vegan establishment. I used to only like this place due to the ease of knowing my food would be 100% vegan with no mistakes. Now that it’s not fully vegan and they’re pushing meat I will go else where since the food itself isn’t great.

Absolutely no soy and there drinks food is amazing. Get anything with coconut bacon and definitely try the fire cider.
