R&s Barbecue - Tompkinsville

I stopped by for lunch and was not disappointed. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I ordered the chicken plate, which came with vinegar coleslaw, cabbage, and green beans. The chicken was pretty good, earning a solid 4 out of 5. The white meat was a bit on the dry side, which is typical, but the thighs and dark meat were cooked perfectly. The green beans were the standout dish, a perfect 5 out of 5—I could eat them all day! The cabbage was boiled and lacked texture, coming in at 3 out of 5, but it did have a nice flavor. The vinegar coleslaw had a sweet twist, also rated at 3 out of 5, though its strong vinegar taste might not suit everyone. Overall, I'm definitely returning for the chicken and green beans, unless something else catches my eye!

The meat is excellent and cooked to perfection! The hot sauce could use a bit more heat, though. The staff were very friendly, and we even chatted for a while. I will definitely return! Just look at this place!

We drove from Louisville, KY to Tompkinsville, KY for a meeting and decided to check out this restaurant. At first glance, it looks small from the outside, but the food we picked up was classic country barbecue – we had chicken, pork steak, hamburgers, potato salad, and macaroni salad. Unfortunately, they had run out of green beans! While we waited for our order, we sat outside because there were no available seats inside. R and S are quite popular, and there was a constant flow of customers coming in and out while we waited. Fortunately, our wait was brief, as they really work hard to serve hot food quickly. Everyone there was friendly, making us feel welcome and ensuring we would enjoy our meal. I noticed the owner was in the kitchen cooking and serving, and I've heard she’s there nearly every day to keep things running smoothly and uphold their standards. This charming little gem offers fantastic food and service. If you're ever in the area, make sure to stop by – you won't regret it!

He was formed by True South over this southern university. It was a point to find time. A 45min surreal trip later, and I found myself further swallowed in the definition of the true south and enjoyed every aspect of it. From the small town feel, and the smell of it's smoke, the desire to eat, tip and repeat.

. Their ribs are so good that it is the first thing that are sold out. We got plate of shoulders and shredded porks with 2 sides; oooooh they are soooooo good. For 9$ a plate with 2 sides and good eating we will be back.
