This IS THE PLACE to eat a delicious steak! Nothing more than that but it was perfect! great choice of vines too. I really had a fantastic dinner
This is not a restaurant for picky eaters or those that don't eat red meat. The menu is totally focused on the chuleton or wing rib of beef that is so prized in the Basque country and the other few items on the menu (roasted peppers, anchovies etc) are just embellishments to the star attraction. We ignored the starters and went straight for the beef with the addition of a green salad. The meat is treated with a reverence that only a specialist restaurant can give and we were given the opportunity to admire the chosen cut before and after cooking. It was amazing and I was glad we hadn't wasted time or stomach space on the other fripperies. The perfectly cooked and seasoned meat was as soft as butter and required nothing else but a glass or two of red wine. I have eaten chuleton before but this was in another class good quality ingredients cooked by someone who knows and cares about what he puts on a guest's plate. Save a tiny bit of space for the excellent homemade truffles presented with coffee.
