Loving Hut - Tokyo

Just wow! The here is fresh, tasty, home cooked, affordable and all vegan! One of the best meals we had in Tokyo. The couple who own it are so friendly, welcoming and attentive. We had 'pork ' bins, tofu spaghetti, dumplings and fried garlic 'chicken ' bites and everything was just so good. Wish we could have eaten here again before leaving Tokyo!

Really glad we came here because the food is so good! Amazing pork buns, dumplings, karaage and tofu noodles. If you enjoy Chinese/Taiwanese food you won't be disappointed, reminds me of my dad's home cooking. Food is ready to take away or you can eat in. The Taiwanese couple that own the place are so lovely and humble. They also make brownies, pineapple cakes and loafs (the chocolate marble is good). Really affordable and great portions. It's cash only aswell.

The host is the star here with his friendly and outgoing personality, making me feel very much at home. Food is takeout, but can be eaten inside, plate and chopsticks are provided if you do. Food comes prepackaged in plastic single-use containers. Dipping sauces, water and hot tea are self-service. Only rice and soup are readily available hot. Unfortunately, the food, although filling, wasn 't for me. It was on the salty side, the mapo tofu was very salty, and the fried chicken , steamed buns, gyoza and the rolled sushi were all pretty one-dimensional; there were no contrasting of flavors or textures nor any refreshing notes to balance and tie everything together. Also, eating in silence takes some getting used to, I wasn 't intentionally listening to people munching and their conversations! Honest!

One of the best Japanese vegan food options, Manju are my fav. Food is little cold, take-out is advisable, Karage are awesome and my Japanese frnds reviews it better than chicken one.

A great vegan cafe with prepared bento boxes of vegan sushi, karaage, dumplings and other dishes. The price is very reasonable and the cafe also has vegan cakes and some other desserts. You can take out or sit in a party of two. The cafe only opens on Fridays and Saturdays so take that into account.
