O'neill's - Tipperary

Despite being a pub, I think calling the food "pub grub" would be selling it short. We tried the chicken curry and beef stroganoff, and I have to say the beef stroganoff was the best I've had in years. It was our first time here but certainly won't be our last. I would give it a 5-star rating.

Situated on the main street, this pub has ample parking with three free car parks nearby and its own small car park at the back. Run by a family, the restaurant offers a main menu along with daily specials that are both delicious and beautifully presented. The staff are welcoming and accommodating. My wife and I frequent this place for lunch and dinner twice a week, enjoying the pleasant and relaxed ambiance. It is advisable to make reservations, particularly on weekends. Additionally, they now serve an all-day breakfast option.

Do not be deceived by the modest appearance of this pub, it is quite charming. The menu may be simple but the dishes are delicious and elegantly presented. The bar staff were welcoming and accommodating, allowing me to charge my phone while I waited for my car to be fixed. The pint of Guinness I had was excellent, with just the right balance for those who prefer a less sweet taste. I am excited to come back and also want to congratulate Tipp on their hurling victory - as a Limerick native, it is always nice to see them win.

We had a fabulous time at O’Neills, one that I will never forget. We started with a great meal and my father was able to have a reunion with his brothers who has not seen since he left Tipperary when he was 4 years old. It was absolutely fabulous and I would like to thank O’Neills for their excellent setting for this reunion. On top of that it was great service, delicious food, and wonderfully chilled pints (we had a few while there... we would recommend a stop in if you find yourself in Tipperary.

My husband and I were lucky to get a table during the bank holiday! It was very busy and many of the tables had been reserved. I had a turkey and ham dinner with plenty of mashed potato’s gravy and cabbage. It was like having Thanksgiving dinner! My husband had the homemade lasagna with salad and fries. He loved it! The portions are big so we could not eat dessert! Delicious home style food!
