Sunset Beach Family Restaurant

Not so taisty althogh it is one of the only restaurants in town. Don't go out of your way. The fish was ok.

A small family restaurant host down the road from the Carolyn motel. Serves Kentucky fried chicken like chicken as well as a variety of other dinners. The chicken is good, the hamburgers are mediocre, the Reubens are good. Stay away from the wedge potatoes. The French fries were great.

The food is home cooking, there is one waitress and one cook, if they get busy service can be on the slow side. Its clean, food is tasty, value is decent. We prefer getting the take out chicken most of the time rather then eating in. The extra crispy chicken and potato wedges with coleslaw is really good (much better value and taste then KFC). Its not fancy but the food hits the spot, its clean, and the staff is friendly. Will continue to go back.

Driving through Northern Ontario, we wanted to get away from the usual fast food outlets so we turned into Thessalon for lunch. The Sunset Beach Restaurant was quite busy so we assumed that it may be good. We ordered chicken with chips which was the special that day. It probably took about one hour to get our food. We got a drumstick and a back piece of chicken along with some potato wedges which seemed to be reconstituted from mashed potatoes and some decent coleslaw. All in all it was not a very good meal which took forever to receive and it was quite expensive compared to the usual fast food places. I think we will stick to the fast food outlets in the future.

Went for breakfast on a recent trip. Waitress Shirley is great and accommodating. We had to move tables around. Food is good and even better when Bev is cooking. Home Fries don on the grill with onion.
