Contribuiți la feedbackSituated by The Rocks, on Gloucester St, the restaurant belonged to the aparthotel that was managed under Accor group of hotels, one of the best stays we have enjoyed. Great hospitality, staff were warm, accommodating and welcoming. Our daily breakfast there included a small buffet selection of cereals, bread, fruit salad, juices and hot beverages, also inclusive of one freshly brewed hot beverage and one specially deliciously cooked to order hot dish per person. It was convenient for us to have our breakfast there due to our early start of our trip schedules and was more than enough to keep our energy up for the day. ????????????✨Buffet Selection ????????????????French Toast ????????????????Smashed Avocado ????????????????Big Breakfast ????????????????Omelette ????????????✨Long Black ????????????????Hot Chocolate On our final day, we ordered a burger for take out, and that was well prepared and portioned and nicely packed for us. ????????????????Cheeseburger & Fries
I wouldn't have known this restaurant existed had it not been for Groupon and aren't I glad I know it does now! Personally I consider this little restaurant, tucked upstairs above the lobby of Quay West, a hidden gem after our experience here. Our deal offered us the choice of 3 sharing entrees, a main each and a dessert each. For our entrees we chose beef carpaccio, scallops and smoked kangaroo. The beef carpaccio came with Parmesan and capers and was beautiful in its simplicity. The capers provided a nice salty punch which was complimented with some sharp Parmesan. The beef was prepared with expert care and soaked in the saltiness from it accompaniments superbly. The scallops were simply devine. Cooked to perfection, they were tender and fell apart as we ate them. Some Parmesan and baby spinach accompanied the seafood morsels as well but were overshadowed which is by no means a bad thing in this case! Finally the smoked kangaroo, which was paired with pickled pumpkin, rounded out our entree trio. A slightly unexpected pairing, the pickled pumpkin was a delight as it's salty flavour refined the gaminess of the kangaroo whilst working worked well with its smokiness. Our mains arrived nicely timed after a brief rest from entree. We chose the salmon and beef tenderloin. The salmon came with a nicely charred and crispy skin but retained a perfectly tender centre that required no knife to cut through. The fillet was accompanied with enoki and shiitake mushrooms and wasabi aioli which really pegged the dish to a Japanese profile. The wasabi aioli especially was a great compliment to the salmon and provided a subtle spice to the dish. The beef tenderloin was cooked to medium rare as per request and was tender and juicy and we could appreciate a choice cut of tenderloin. It came with candied beetroot relish, baby green beans and lubneh which all worked really well when we paired each separately with the beef. We especially enjoyed the lubneh as it added a soft creaminess to each mouthful of the tenderloin. Following our mains came dessert. We elected to have the chefs selection. Within the selection was a dense chocolate ganache, a coconut panna cotta, vanilla ice cream and a pinch of pistachio pashmak. Our favourites were the panna cotta which had 'that' wobble and a noticeably coconut flavour profile that was refreshing after our meal. Our other favourite was the pistachio pashmak. It was the first time I've tried pashmak and I immediately liked it over traditional fairy floss as it is more savoury and has a more refined texture. It also tasted exactly like pistachio which I loved! Overall, Harrington is a great restaurant to visit even if you aren't staying at Quay West. We will be back for a second visit! eatventures.net
