Xun Yu Si Kao (xun Yu Si Kao Xún Yú Sī Kǎo

The grilled fish is definitely the highlight of the menu! You can select from a variety of sauces or broths, whether you prefer it spicy or not. There are also options for add-ons, like enoki mushrooms. Although they were mostly out of many menu items, the flavors of what we ordered were still quite good. My favorite dish was the eggplant and century egg salad, which was served in a mortar and pestle—such a unique presentation! Customer service was decent, especially given the language barrier, but the lone gentleman at the front was helpful in providing what we needed.

I was really confused by their signage. We used our GPS to find the location, but couldn't spot the restaurant name anywhere. It seems they changed it to Golden Wok (though I can't recall for sure). Once we went inside, the waitstaff greeted us but then informed us that they were out of chicken, beef, and various other items—only fish was available. At that point, we decided to leave, laughing about the situation. It honestly felt like they weren't interested in serving customers, so we opted to take our business elsewhere. The end.

The food is incredible! The grilled fish from the XunYu chain is always consistently delicious! The service here is outstanding as well. Ever since we moved to Houston, my family and friends have been coming here almost every other week. On one occasion, we arrived close to closing time, but the staff member on duty that night was extremely welcoming and assured us it was no problem at all. We felt bad for keeping her late, but she didn't show any sign of annoyance whatsoever.

I was searching it for fifteen minutes. In the end, we found that It's closed. So don't come here.

Honestly loved the atmosphere here. Most of the items on their menu are so tasty! My friends and I ordered a bunch of skewers and different entrees. Price can be a bit pricey if you eat a lot to get full. It was such a hectic day and my husband and I were starving so we did not have time to take pics and literally scarf down all the foods. Will be back to try more, give a thorough update and actually pictures next time!
