Houston Marriott Medical Center

The pools have been shut for a while! Couldn’t access the fitness center area… They keys don’t work on the first try, you have to tap them several times

My wife made a reservation just after hurricane Beryl, when power failed at home. She canceled in less than 30 minutes after she first hung up. The Marriott rented the room shortly after she canceled, but then charged my wife full price for the canceled room. She called Marriott and spoke to them, and they said it was their policy. She then spoke to the manager who told her it was their policy, so no refund. I have been going to Marriott hotels all over the world for decades. But that stops now. To take advantage of customers right after the hurricane passed is unsatisfactory and WRONG. I most certainly do not recommend making a reservation with ANY Marriott hotel, let alone one near Houston Medical Center. If for any reason you change your mind, they rip you off. Hilton is better and understands when plans change they cancel without charging you. My wife has heart failure and we only canceled when we found that her sister didn’t lose power. The rooms were expensive and cancellation after 10 or 20 minutes should not have been charged. I will add pictures when I drive by this horrible hotel and staff. Marriott just made a serious mistake. It will literally cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars in the rest of my life, sisters in law, brothers in law, and coworkers and customers from my work. I will tell everyone for many years about Marriott failing. In the USA, Spain, Italy, and many other places. The only way I will ever stay in a Marriott hotel from now on is if there is NO OTHER HOTEL with in 40 miles or more not available. There are consequences for stealing from my wife.

Conveniently located by the hospital district. Stay went well. Very disappointed with the restaurant food options; these were VERY limited and none are healthy options. Restaurant staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is in a great location in you are in the medical center. The rooms are good and people are friendly. But what brings this hotel into the epic category is the M lounge. The space is pretty big. The breakfast is the buffet at the restaurant and their evening reception is one of my favorite (mashed potatoes and chicken, fajitas, salad). It’s enough to get a full meal if you are too tired to go out. But the icing on the cake is Maraceli. She is in my top 5 favorite people I have met in my 10 years of travel. Seeing her in the morning with a huge smile on her face is a great start to the day. She is so friendly and accommodating and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about her. Hotel gets 5 . Lounge gets 10 . Maraceli gets 100.
