Contribuiți la feedbackI was over the moon to find spaghetti! A personal favorite dish I haven't found easily at restaurants and it satisfied. I also enjoyed the Jallof rice, tho it is on the spicier side as others mentioned. The Beef Suya was good, I liked the quality however it was prepared different than I've had it before with the seasoning shaken over rather than marinated so the taste did not penetrate (That may be a matter of preference) The chicken the same, little bland on the inside. However, there is plenty of seasoning in the dish as a whole that once you mix it all up it's just fine. Plantain was cooked perfectly, I wish everyone made it this way! Generous portions. Service was good. The restaurant/lounge is very clean and neat and so are their bathrooms. Great music and ambiance for dinner or to hangout and enjoy hookah. In all, I would recommend.
I was craving Rice and Beef. I was looking at the different places on my Doordash and Ubereats app and comparing them, because I'm such a picky gal. My safe place is usually Marie African, but I wanted to try a different restaurant. Royal Point was on my list to try but they were closed, so that was a bummer. Now, I really like Jollof Rice, but once I discovered Coconut Rice a few years ago, I usually order that with Goat or Beef at most places. I love the fact that it has Shrimp and Carrots in it. I have wanted to try Baba Jollof for a while now and since Uber Eats delivers I decided to give them a try. Looking at the menu I discovered that they not only have the regular Jollof Rice but they also have a Party Jollof Rice. I was definitely down to try that so I ordered that with beef. The rice itself looked tasty and very plentiful. Once I tried it though it was pretty dry, and the chicken in it was very hard. I didn't know if it was old chicken(not freshly made) or overcooked chicken. It had tons of Peas in it which I don't really care for(but that's my preference). It lacked carrots though, there were a few and I really like carrots so if it was loaded with carrots I wouldn't have complained at all. I only ate a small portion the rice. The beef would've been superb if they had simmered it in the tomato stew. It seems they just cooked it and that was it, so it tasted like beef without the Nigerian flavor. I love the Stew, so if the meat was slathered in it I wouldn't have said a word. I tried two of the Plantains and they were good. I like my Plantains with a little crisp to them and they had that. I would give them another try, but I would go to the restaurant and order instead of ordering thru an app.
I didn?t even get to try the food. Both Yelp and Google state that they close at 10pm. I arrived at 9. A woman was outside on the phone and I walked in. The gentleman there did not greet me so I looked over the menu. As I looked over the menu he very rudely stated ?we are closed?. He didn?t even bother to say it to my face. I attached a picture of the front of the establishment so others can see that they do not have Hours Of Operation posted. Nor do they have hours listed on their webpage. I cannot rate the food, but the service was enough to make sure I never try again.
This was a cool little spot in Houston. I was not sure what to expect because Nigerian Restaurant are a hit or miss. This however was just a nice hit. Quiet for lunch and potentially a good spot to work at least early in the day. Plenty of room and the food was delicious. I warn you if your spice level have become Americanized abeg avoid this place. The food spicy wey e go burn pesin mouth. I had the Asun which is always a favorite of mine. So so delicious and so spicy. For lunch I had Ayamase and white rice. This was bad idea on a 100 degree day. Lord have mercy I finished my water and Fanta before I finished the food. This food make pesin sweat past. Overall I liked this place just quiet in a nice shopping plaza not difficult to find. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was just perfect. I?ll see them again on my next Houston trip. Well done Baba Jollof team
The owner was nice but thats pretty much it . I ordered fried rice, suya , eba stew . Very disgusting. All the meat had no salt , very bland and flavorless no spice .The rice was just okay. This was actually the worst tasting Nigerian food I?ve ever had Maybe he can hire a new cook ???? . Very disappointed . ????
