Mike's Subs The Hamilton Original

Came to Hamilton for work and all the locals pointed me here for lunch. Place had a real family feel to it and the sub was simply classic. I tried their Apollo sub and it was perfect.

Been a few times over the years. Always gotten the Apollo sub. Dropped in for lunch to grab the meat ball sub in the hot section of the menu and it is not hot or even warm. My meatballs were so cold actually. He did offer it to nuked, but I had assumed the meat balls were warm so I said it was ok. So lesson learned there is no hot section but rather a microwave.. besides the staff smoking 4 ft outside the door while trying to enter this was the only other downfall.

I was excited to try the subs here however the experience was completely underwhelming. The mixed subs were 3/10 at best. Wouldn’t dine there again especially since there are so many great sub shops in Hamilton. The service could be a lot friendlier.

I mean, you're not going here for atmosphere but the lighting is way harsh, TaiNot my preferred sub shop in Hamilton... Mainly because they charge extra for pickles. It's a good pickle but still.Parking: There's usually parking right out front, the chances of getting caught aren't huge if you don't pay but it's super cheap so I tend to pop a quarter into the meter rather than risk it

If you're looking for an amazing sub sandwich look no further quality and quantity a staple of great subs on Ottawa Street for years this place has fed our families appetites for well over 20 years.
