I didn’t eat here so I can’t comment on the food however the pint I had was very welcome after a long cycle ride from Dover. I did stay in a room upstairs booked through a well known booking site. It is a most unusual place to stay. The rooms are similar style to the pub with everything old and quirky! Some old places are quite modern really but this was like going back in time. I saw someone going through a pile of LPs to play some music on the record player! Haven’t seen that for years. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Great place!
Quirky pub in a lovely street. Dog-friendly and popular with locals. Locally brewed ale and good range of gins.
Been trying to get here for a while and we had dinner booked across the road at the Flastaff. Popped in and was wowed. Super friendly barman, friendly local bonding over the amazing Japanese food (currently available Friday and Saturday) and discussing the excellent Mexcian food (currently available Wednesday and Thursday). The lovely woman preparing the food provided some dumplings and they were perhaps the best I have tasted seriously. Nice selection of beers and gins. Quirky and warm interior classic. People go to this place!
This is a lovely, quirky, cosy pub with a fantastic range of draft craft beer and ale. We also ordered a scotch egg and a pork pie both were homemade and very tasty. The toilets are also far nicer and fancier than you'd expect. If you go for a drink here (and you should) you'll see what I mean.
