Fisherman Villa - Thalpitiya

First, we’re both not too much into seafood. But since the Sri Lankan cuisine mainly exists of seafood besides curries, we decided to give it a try. The food we had tiger prawns, shrimps, and cuttlefish was fresh and delicious. The staff was nice and the food didn’t take long to be prepared though there was a wedding in the hall. The prices are lower than in the nearby hotels and the quality very similar or even a little better. We paid around 40€ for two entrees, two appetizers and some beers. Definitely worth another visit.

Very good food and nice atmosphere. Not taking much time to serve the meals ordered. Good for small and medium functions. Friendly staff.

We ate here twice and on our first visit the food and service was really good. Our second visit was on a very busy Friday night and we waited 1.5hrs for our food and when it did come there was only two of us got served and it was another 10mins before the other two got there food so it was disappointing. The waiter did apologise and we could see they were busy but when four people order food we expect to eat at the same time that said food was very nice.

Only if you like fish!! In fact that is all you will get. Its fresh, Caught in the morning usually, so what is on the menu depends what was caught. You can watch them bringing in the catch on the beach in the morning. Its simple fresh and either grilled which I would recommend with some local spices but not too hot!! or fried. We went into the kitchen to choose the fish. Had a grilled Coral fish between the two of us plus salad and chips. Beautiful!! All very laid back and very friendly. We were of interest to the staff however as I filleted the fish with a knife and fork while the locals do it with their fingers!! If you want wine,,,bring your own. They only have beer. No problem they will give you glasses ice bucket. As it is right next door to the Blue Waters Hotel you can walk it either via the beach or via the road from the front of the hotel. The cost is mid range for Sri Lanka but cheap against UK prices.

Great atmosphere in this villa and banquet hall was spacious and neat. eating is just above average, while the decor garden is beautiful. a large parking space is only 50 meters from the hotel. overall, in satisfied during my time here.
