I 'm mezzo Siciliano (but tutto Italiano), and let me tell you, the food and drinks at Café Sicilia are truly breathtaking! It 's more Italian-American fare than it is Italian (one of their best dishes, the Homemade Toasted Ravioli, was invented in St. Louis, Missouri), but it 's still quite possibly the best Italian-American food I 've had in Massachusetts. Heck, the only place I can think of that does classic Italian better charges twice as much money for half the portion size. Anyway, in addition to the Homemade Toasted Ravioli, I got the Assorted Seafood Pasta with their homemade fusilli, and it was so incredibly tasty. The tomato sauce was delightful, and both the pasta and the scallops were cooked to perfection, neither overcooked nor undercooked. The Amalfi Coast blew me away with its tastefully fruity flavors and its uncanny resemblance to the waters of the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic Seas (seriously, it 's like they scooped it up and put it in a glass). I rounded out my meal with the Spumoni Bomba and a perfect pour of espresso, and I 'm not even joking, my entire three-course meal complete with alcoholic beverage and hefty dessert came out to a mere sixty bucks or so. I feel like a thief. Oh, and not to mention, the service was excellent, too! I 'm definitely coming back, and if you haven 't tried this place yet, you absolutely must!
Seen the reviews and made reservations for a Friday night. Prime dinner time, not a sole in this subshop/restaurant. Could not serve cocktail had to be mixed like a martini. That was odd. Ordered stuffed mushrooms to start off. The were brought out. Very soggy, looked black and when I took a small bite the taste was aweful, had a sour taste. I spit it out and spoke to server. A minute later, the owner came out and I told him to eat it and tell me if they taste good to him. They were not fresh and rotten. We got up and went to AL Fresca for a real Italian dinner.
