Applebee's Neighborhood Grill

I just stopped by for drinks and appetizers with my date. I had a Sam's Oktoberfest, which is always a solid choice, and we shared the combo platter for our appetizer. It was quite good! I particularly enjoyed the Buffalo nuggets—err, I mean boneless wings. Let's be honest, they're made from chicken breast, not actual wings, but they're tasty and have just the right amount of spice for those who prefer milder flavors. I was also pleasantly surprised by the artichoke dip, which I usually don't enjoy. The prices were reasonable, and the bar area was bustling for a rainy Wednesday evening, which indicates they're doing something right. Overall, it was a really great experience!

The boneless wings looked much more appealing in the advertisement. The bartender was underwhelming, and despite ordering endless wings, the waitress never checked in to see if I wanted more, even though she passed by me several times. What’s up with that? The bar wasn’t very crowded, yet both the bartender and waitress treated us as if we were in a busy Boston bar. There was a noticeable lack of attention for no apparent reason. I wouldn’t return.

I really enjoy Applebee's, but I had a negative experience with a server named Kyle. He informed my friends and me (all of whom are under 18) that he couldn't provide a kids menu "for adults." Later, when we asked a different waiter for the kids menu and requested kids meals, Kyle sighed, rolled his eyes, and shook his head at us. This behavior felt very unprofessional.

It was a sad day when I saw that Applebee's closed in Drum Hill. But fear not, the Tewksbury was another location at a reasonable distance! I love the sweet asian chile boneless wings here. The service at the bar is also fantastic as well. Tony is a great server; if you get him at the bar, you're in for a good time. I usually come after 9 pm. I think the half price appetizers happen 2-5 pm, and 9 pm to close. You can get an order of delicious boneless wings for $6 which is incredible. The chicken wonton tacos are also nice, and the classic appetizer sampler is something I used to get in the past.

It was an okay visit. We've been to this location many times and it's usually great. They didn't have the drinks we wanted (issue with soda fountain) and charged us for an adult meal when we ordered a kids. But, theres a CO2 shortage in general and they rectified the bill issue without any problem.
