Rouge Boeuf - Terrebonne

We arrived at 7 pm. We had a waiter approach us at about 715 and bring us water we did not see him again till we asked where he was about 30 minutes later. So 45 minutes later we ordered our food. We got our appetizers in a reasonable amount of time however never saw our waiter again until one of our party complained. About 5 minutes lat er the waiter came out with attitude and chewed us out saying we got our appetizers and actually asked what our problem was. Our problem we never saw the waiter till we asked and it took over 90 minutes to get our food. Which was mediocre at best and cold when it came. I had steak, tough and cold. The waiter cane with the bills and pitched a fit when he was not given a tip. Service was horrendous so why would he get a tip? Probably never go back.

Four of us went for supper Sunday(July 31). Three of us ordred a steak (it's their specialty after all). We all ordered medium. Mine was medium-well, the other 2 were well-done! Let's be serious here! It's a steakhouse but they can't cook the steak as ordered. The very friendly waitress was apologetic and was told to offer free dessert and coffee as a consolation. It was my second visit and my last!

Service was warm and friendly. Care was taken to find us the type of table we like. Service was slow just like we like it. We shared tartares as an appetizer, and had a lobster mango salad and the small plate of ribs with mushroom risotto, as mains. You can bring your own wine. This restaurant is a find well worth trying.

I had high expectations for this place, that 's the impression you get once you get in. However, I found it overpriced considering the choices quality of the food. We sat outside on the terrace, it was nice. Service was ok considering the restaurant was not too full, it did take at least 20 minutes to get a steak skewer because I asked it to be well done. The fries with my meal were either too mushy or burnt. The plate comes with a choice of fries, baked or mashed potato AND seasonal vegetables. I got half a corncob and a thin slice of red pepper. It 's a BYOW but they don 't serve any other alcoholic beverages here. As written in my title, it was ok but I wouldn 't return.

We were dissapointed by this restaurant on quite a few levels. The service was mediocre, the vibe is very trendy (I don't consider it being a compliment, this place lacks authenticity) with loud music. The steak was ok, tartar was subpar, and the prices are very high for what you get. We won't be going back to this chain, nothing fits our preferences.
