Bistrot Elena Walch

Away from the campsites and cheap pizzerias around the nearby lake is a gem of a place serving Elena Walch's wonderful wines alongside a limited yet top-notch selection of food. It's a place for lovers of quality who don't mind spending a little extra to have it. Relaxed, relaxing and staffed by delightful, kind cheery people who seem to love their work. You end up feeling lucky to have visited. A rare find indeed.

We have loved their wine for a number of years. Our back roads drive from Trento to Merano got a late start. So what else is not new? When our GPS, which has behavioral problems, showed us a list of restaurants along our route, I jumped at the chance to stop here. We were very glad we did. While the menu is limited to cold plates all three we tried, the cheese selection, the carpaccio of beef and the smoked trout were all superb, and of course accompanied with good bread and a fine glass of chardonnay. The two ladies doing the serving and preparation were charming. While most of their visitors speak Italian and German, they both were quite conversant in English. A great stop along a very beautiful by way. Let 's be clear, this is not a full service restaurant, but a limited showcase for the winery. There are a few dessert pastries, good coffee. It was perfect for a light lunch and a short break. The outdoor seating is comfortable, and there are a few tables inside.

We came here as we wanted to try the wines produced by Elena Walch. This a very modern bistro, where they serve wines together with cheese and cold cuts. You can enjoy and taste the wines produced by Elena Walca, while enjoying the relaxing ambient. The server was very nice too, as she introduced different wine to us and let us try them, before we decide on which bottle of wine to go for.

We stop by La Verre Capricieux every time we stay in Tramin. It 's a lovely place and the wine (Elena Walch 's is eccelent). We also had our wedding aperitivo there so it 's easy to imagine how much we love this place.
