Contribuiți la feedbackThis is my second time visiting this restaurant within two years and still having a less than satisfactory experience. I ordered the Hawaiian Rib-Eye Steak (medium), my steak arrived overly seared, flipped over to hide how the other side was completely burned. I took a few bites and the burnt taste just resonated in each bite. The dish even emitted a strong “burnt” smell when placed in-front of me. I did bring it to the attention of the manager, who ultimately had it remade for me. They denied boxing my food to go (typical of this restaurant I’ve learned) as the individual at lunch with me had already finished their meal by the time my plate came out. I only got a brief apology from the manager but nothing was taken off of my bill for their mistake. I paid and left shortly after receiving the remade steak. My waitress was kind, but from the moment my party entered the restaurant, the looks from the managers/hushed conversations made myself and my party uncomfortable, completing ruining our dining experience. I was visiting Orlando, so I was taking a quick photo with my friend when a Chef came to tell me to. “turn off my device in their dining room”. She didn’t greet me, did not say Good Afternoon, sorry to bother you, not even a thank you afterwards she just walked off, talking to me and giving instructions as if I were a child. Overall, the service was underwhelming and it seems as if chefs and managers of this location only wish to truly cater to a specific crowd. I have given this restaurant two opportunities, on completely separate occasions, and I will not be returning. Dietary restrictions: There were chefs accommodating to dietary restrictions such as allergies.
Been coming here for many years. Still always fantastic. Very few places you can go and be satisfied consistently like this .
Houston’s/ Hillstone has been a favorite restaurant of mine for decades. It’s a celebration location! On our most recent visit (August) we were sad to find out that there is no longer any appetizer and drink service to the outside area with the adirondack chairs and many have been removed, and also that the patio dining has been removed. Is this just a summer change? If so, I’ll amend my review! Our favorite is to eat outside, either appetizers and drinks or a full meal and enjoy the outdoors, as inside can get loud and not have the views of nature. Still, the food is superb! But just not the same experience it used to be without maximizing the outdoor space!
I have been going to this restaurant for many years and and I must say the service and the food and ambience has always been on point but yesterday to my most unbelievable experience, which I’ve never felt such disgust and discrimination living in Orlando since the 90s. we called to see if the kitchen is open because we were larger party so they had mentioned on the phone that they will put us on two separate tables since they cannot accommodate a large party in one table. We said OK so upon our arrival the hostess to my surprise when looking at me or maybe the color of my skin or maybe making out that am from Muslim origin, I was told that they will not entertain a party than five people which I told them you can entertain us as a separate party and my brother his family can be put on his separate party in a separate reservation perhaps even a separate check she says that will not be possible since “I had disclosed now and that’s the policy” and asked me I wanted to see the manager which I thought would be more professional and more appropriate but to my shock and awe she was even worse than her colleague she insisted on suggesting me other restaurants that might take us, I mean how in todays time this business is running with people turning you down simply basis of race or ethnicity it’s not only unethical and somewhat illegal I only left only because my kids were with me and I’m also a hotelier myself I humbly request that this place look at alternatives to manage the place or place signs outside that only certain skin colors are welcome. Shame on the management am never going back to this place again. And I’ll make sure my community heard about this LOUD n CLEAR how racist and discriminatory this place exists in 2024
This used to be a great restaurant. Now it's just overpriced with average food and less-than-average service. Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian selections, and they can't adjust menu options as they should be able too.
