It 's not often I get a meal I feel like I have to really work to finish the last few delicious bites. Instead, I 'm always having people ask where does it all go? when they see me clear a huge plate in no time despite me being slim. I met a worthy adversary here with the menu del dia, which was just a massive portion of fresh, made-to-order food. Hearty vegetable soup, fried mushrooms, rice, beans, salad, salsa and fresh tortillas all for 100 pesos! Everything tasted great and my friend enjoyed her meal as well. She only managed to eat half and saved the rest for the next day, and despite us having lunch fairly early around 2pm, we stayed so full for the entire rest of the day that the only other thing we ate was a plate of fries we split at 10pm. If you 've just finished the Tepozteco hike and need to fill up and replace all those calories you 've burned, this is the spot!
