Los Colorines - Tepoztlán

Colorful and traditional spot in the center of Tepoztlan. They offer a variety of traditional Mexican staples like beans, guacamole, nopales (cactus leaves), quesadillas, tlacoyos, etc. Servers are not familiar with veganismo, but you can just order things without cheese and they will be vegan. I recommend ordering guacamole, beans (without cheese), the nopal salad, and quesadillas or tlacoyos (without cheese or sour cream). Everything we had was really fresh and tasty. We ordered huitlacoche and squash flour and mushrooms--flor de calabaza con champiñones--quesadillas and they were delicious! Staff is friendly and serviceable, though don't expect them to speak English. Food comes quickly and everything is great. Inexpensive, but cash only!

I got the mushroom soup (caldo de hongos) and it was glorious. Also, I got the guacamole, but the totopos weren't very nice they were fried not toasted. I couldn't find any other options... Important that's only cash accepted!

I had the lens soup and it was really delicious.
