The Jolly Roger - Tendring

We went here for lunch 2 days in a row whilst on holiday, both days food and service was great, and well priced

The restaurant experience was not pleasant. The children were served two portions of cold chips, which were promptly returned. The explanation given was that they were sitting outside, despite the chips being just brought out and the temperature being 25 degrees. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.

Food OK going back to the 1980. Blooming expensive, won't be going back. Thought the place should at lest rable service for the money. £5.00 for a cup of tea. £3.50 for 12 chips rip off.

The service at this restaurant was very poor. The chips were cold and clearly reheated, the eggs were inedible, and the fish came with out-of-date tartare sauce that was potentially dangerous. When I mentioned my dissatisfaction with the meal, the rude old lady accused me of lying and only reluctantly offered me a small refund after a heated argument. I would recommend avoiding this place unless you only plan on having tea and crisps. The portions and quality of the food do not justify the high prices. It is clear why the restaurant was empty and had a depressing atmosphere. Save your money and go somewhere that values your business.

The restaurant offers delicious food that is perfect for families, and the atmosphere is lovely and clean. We ordered the fish platter twice and the fish and chips twice, all of which were incredibly fresh and flavorful. We would definitely come back again.
