Enjoyed the cheeseburger salad, corn dog and a Ex Large diet soda. It was filling but expensive. Good thing: free refill on soda. Another good thing: cheese scattered throughout the salad. Total with tip about $23.00. Thus is not fast food and I do appreciate the time and attention to my meal.

Have you heard of Templeton, CA? Yeah, me neither. It's next to Paso Robles, and the most conspicuous landmark is a gigantic feed and grain silo right off Main Street. Josh Brolin was raised here, and Sandy Koufax retired here. Jamie W. and I ended up in this unassuming town looking for a bite to eat before heading to Sensorio for the evening. The restaurant we found had a unique set up, with a standalone shack where you order and two women preparing the food. There was a separate dining area and a cozy patio in the back. Both Jamie and I were intrigued by the Cheeseburger Salad on the menu, priced at $10.99. It turned out to be surprisingly tasty, with fresh grassfed ground beef and cheese cut into strips. The croutons and balsamic vinaigrette were nice additions. We also tried the holiday special, a $5.99 Pumpkin Spice Shake, which was a delightful treat. While it may not have been the best shake ever, it paired well with the cheeseburger salad. Overall, Templeton rocks. The food earns 4 stars for the delicious cheeseburger salad and pumpkin spice shake. The ambiance gets 4.5 stars for its small town charm, and the service is rated 4 stars for being enthusiastic. In total, I give it 4 stars and recommend trying the Grassfed restaurant in Templeton.

I really miss Martins on Main! My burger was dry today, and the bun was also very dry. The fries were tough too. I am so disappointed. I want to support local businesses, but this meal was really below par. Maybe I just picked a bad day. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.

All-beef hot dogs with that satisfying snap and juicy burgers; crisp fries and tummy onion rings. Great place for a quick lunch: I have to go every few weeks for my Rangeland fix.
