Chop House At New Sheridan - TELLURIDE

We were greeted by a lovely hostess and seated at a perfect table. Our server was very attentive and gave us all the details we wanted from the menu. Cocktails were great and our dinner was outstanding. We really had a wonderful evening!

Wonderful drinks and meals tonight. I loved the onion soup with loads of cheese. We enjoyed the filet mignon and bison ribeye. Cooked properly and delivered with flair from the kitchen. Waiter was positive attitude and attentive without becoming intrusive. The dining area itself was spacious and appeared to be recently refurbished. The only negative was general pricing. While well prepared the meals just did t feel like $80 entrees. But if sticker pricing doesn't bother you definitely worth a visit!

We have dined at New Sheridan many times in the past. We were seated in a two person booth in the bar area. We were given water and ordered two glasses of wine which came pretty quick. That was the last we saw of our server for at least 15 minutes. The bartender noticed we were sitting there waiting and waiting and he sent another server to check on us and we ordered our meals. While we understand that cost are higher in a mountain town it seems that New Sheridan is priced very high for the quantity of food we received. The food was great but there was just so little of it. I had the salmon and it was served over what was probable a tablespoon of rice with four crunchy chickpeas. We are basically patient folks but we will probably not visit New Sheridan if come back to Telluride.

GO HERE! Brian our server was outstanding. This place is wonderful. We started off with a generous charcuterie board, great selections of meats, cheeses, and local honey. We then moved to calamari, also excellent! Main course- full disclaimer, I am a steak snob. I eat at steak houses all over the US for work… so I’m typically hyper critical. When I noticed that New Sheridan Chop House butchered on site and had an 1800degree broiler, I was intrigued. My wife and I split the New York Strip, cooked medium rare (light , I’d take a cold center if I could… first bite blew me away! The steak was soooo perfectly cooked. The hints of rosemary and garnish were present but not overpowering. The steak was buttery, flavorful, and charred beautifully. We did a side of local farm carrots, and you could really taste the locality of the farm. Again, everything is outstanding : Overall, one of the best meals I’ve had, period. Lastly, we had our 6 month old daughter with us and we sat outside. She was very well behaved, but the staff was incredibly accommodating for a stroller.

I can't say enough good things about The New Sheridan Chop House. From the food, drinks, service, staff, the atmosphere, is all so amazing!! My husband and I celebrate every special occasion at The Chop House. Thank you New Sheridan Chop House for yet another great birthday celebration for me! :
