Powderham Farm Shop - Teignbridge

Whenever we visit this restaurant, we always enjoy their selection of Lime Bay wine and other products. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are always friendly.

Live 3miles away often pop in after a walk for a take away cuppa. Two teas were ok, but avoid the lion bar brownie as this was totally inedible and we couldn’t even get a knife into it to cut up £2.75 in the bin! Would certainly not recommend this . Will not be buying that there again. Such a shame as normally their cakes are good.

My husband and I visited Powderham plant nursery 02.09.22 and after a walk around the shop thought it would be nice to have coffee and cake in the orangery. The cafe is large with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. They adopted seating people at tables during covid which is ongoing. We made it clear we didn't want lunch just coffee and choose to sit inside on sofas at the back of the restaurant. At no point were we told there would be a wait. There appeared to only be 3 waiting staff for the entire area and they were continuing to seat people but not take orders. We waited approximately 15 minutes and the lady who said she would take our order did not approach us so we choose to leave. We had tried to catch another waitresses eye and I put my hand up but she appeared not to notice. Unfortunately I think this is potentially a management issue with not enough staff employed to man the area. Surely if they cant get enough staff, which obviously I appreciate is a problem at present, the more sensible thing would be to close off an area of the restaurant so the staff available can manage the smaller area better? We are locals who probably won't use the orangery again as it's not the first time that the service has been inadequate.

Cafe is lovely with good choices and friendly staff . Had a breakfast wow really tasty. Good fresh ingredients and plenty of it . Will definitely visit again. Farm shop has also plenty of choice. To choose from. Yummy cakes also. .

At ten to twelve we were told we could not order off the lunchtime menu so we ordered coffees and tea cakes money taken twenty minutes later coffees arrived forty minutes later they were serving food off lunch menu guess what no tea cakes what a joke won’t rush back ps menu overpriced and boring considering the stock in the shop
