Highly recommend the Funghi pasta dish with tender tageliatelle noodles. A mix of five mushrooms, carmelized onions and a rich cognac cream sauce. Made with real whipping cream, so rich I took half home for dinner the next night. The tiramisu was the best I've had since Italy! We will be back next time we visit Lakeshore and Tecumseh area.
The food is spot on. Any pasta dish is a safe bet, but my go-to is the carbonara. Service is always good, and prices are more than fair for the quality of food and service. In my humble opinion, Fratelli is my standard of comparison when I have pasta.Atmosphere is nice- interesting decor- but I do wish the place was a little bit larger than it is. At times, it's difficult to get a table, and when there are larger groups, it does tend to get a little bit loud in there. Other than that, this place is a standard option when trying to decide on a place to eat.
We had reservations, which I highly suggest. The waiter was very good. The 'best on the menu' was lamb shank. It was good but the feature starch was mashed potatoes. No pasta? No lasagna or cannelloni on the menu. I hear the pizza is pretty good. I guess the only thing authentic was the waiter. Don't get me wrong, the food is good.
Dinner at the bar has always been a great option for us!. Wonderful, attentive service, goo recommendations and honest, caring attention by all the staff.Appetizers hit the spot....we mix it up every time we go and have never been disappointed. Main course has always been excellent.
The first time I ate here a few years ago I determined that I would not return. The food was mediocre at best. When friends recently suggested we go for dinner at Fratelli's, it was my hope that I had misjudged the food and this time we would enjoy a good Italian meal. Once again, I was disappointed. It is definitely not what I would consider fine dining yet the price charged for my husband's sea bass seemed extreme given the type of restaurant it is. I think $40 was excessive for a reasonable portion of fish and a few vegetables. My stracciatella was so salty I could barely eat the broth and only ate half of it. As well, it was a surprise to find meat in the soup which is not typical. The taste of the meat certainly did not enhance the flavour of the soup. The only good thing I can say is that the price of the drinks were very reasonably priced and the lowest I have experienced for this type of restaurant. Will I return; unfortunately not.
