The atmosphere is lovely, but the prices for family meals are quite high. The menu is fairly limited, and they use Alternative brand milks, which I'm not a fan of in my coffee. The bar is nice and might be better suited for a date night rather than a casual family outing. However, there's a playground nearby, which is a nice bonus, along with a dairy store for more affordable food options!

This was our first visit, and it has become our new go-to spot! The atmosphere was delightful, and the service was impressively fast. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, lamb shank, pork belly, and dessert, and I can’t find any faults with anything! Everything not only looked fantastic but also tasted incredible. Our drinks and food were served quickly as well. We'll definitely be returning!

We decided to visit this restaurant on a Friday after discovering that our original choice had closed. We've had good experiences with the food at the General at the Mount in the past, and our meal this time was no exception. I ordered the 200g eye fillet steak, which was outstanding and cooked exactly to my preference (medium rare). My wife opted for the crusted lamb fillet, and she also found it to be excellent. I noticed they offer a special price on steak every Thursday, so we may return soon.

Just as good as The Mount branch! The General never disappoints on food, coffee, service and facilities. The food is super fresh consistently good. Amazing place to take kids with a great kids menu activity packs. Staff are fantastic. Eat drink here!!

Customer service was exceptional, and service was fast. I can't rate the food as I ordered a coffee it was delicious. The only thing that I would recommend is getting equal or splendors as the artificial sugar they use does not cut the mustard. All in all great place great people beautiful surroundings.
