Caffe Nero - Taunton

We had a great experience with the lattes at this restaurant on New Year's Eve, however, the cleanliness of the establishment was very disappointing. There were old cobwebs in the corners of the windows and many tables were dirty. We asked a trainee barista to clean a table for us, but even after cleaning the tray, our table remained dirty. We also witnessed the same person sneezing into his hand and then handling food without washing his hands. Another barista said 'bless you' but did not suggest that he wash his hands. Overall, the lack of cleanliness was quite disturbing.

This Nero location was a huge disappointment. We typically enjoy Nero's drinks wherever we go, assuming they will always be consistent, but this experience was truly awful. We had to request a remake of our flat white, but even the second one was just as bad. We also overheard another customer commenting that their flat white tasted like an ashtray. It's a shame that such a beautiful building feels so neglected.

I do enjoy the Cafe Nero in Taunton; they serve excellent coffee and have a lovely atmosphere. However, today I had a less than satisfactory experience with the service. The man who served me seemed more focused on his phone than on getting me my coffee. Customer service should prioritize the customer, in my opinion. Despite this, I still recommend visiting the cafe, but I felt it was important to share my thoughts on today's visit.

During our trip to cafe Nero today. We were very disheartened by the service of which we indured. The woman who was serving our beverages simply could not crack a smile. TOUGH CROWD. When asking the difference between two coffees upon their set menu they were unable to answer. There appeared to be a language Barrier to which myself and my dear friend were unable to understand what it was we had ordered. To our horror we were given our drinks after a considerable wait. These looked something similar to a bush trucker trail. The drinking task that is. The coffee was bitty and tasted rather sour. Not pleasant at all considering the price paid. Unfortunately we would have presented our concerns in person however we did not have a pen. We also we not offered a napkin and had to get one ourselves. This came in great use later on! Talking about this load of **** the toilets were undesirable. Stinky and filthy. No paper and the hand dryer was not in service. I do hope the people making the coffees are able to wash their hands effectively. I am normally a rather big supporter of cafe Nero however me and my dear friend will not be coming again.

I have been visiting this Nero for years and it had just been going down hill the last year or so. Today was horrendous. The drink was its usual good self. Staff seemed pleasant enough. Every table had at least one full dirty tray and mugs. The tables all needed clearing. The toilets hadn’t been checked and cleaned for over 6 hours according to their own sign off system and you could tell they needed cleaning.
