Kowin Restaurant - Taree

Chose the Kowin on the recommendation of a local, and was not disappointed. Doesn't look that much from the outside, and there was no body eating in when we got out take away, but the meals we bought (fried rice, sweet and sour pork, satay beef) were excellent. Reasonable value too ($15 a main).

We have eaten here at least 6 times over 3 years. Average food for average prices. There are not many options in Taree but I think I would rather heat up a microwave meal than eat here again. The honey chicken was the best main - the fried rice was ok, but spring rolls and satay sticks not great. Not good at all really. But it is family friendly. Ok, so maybe would grab a honey chicken and again - but nothing else.

I order only a few things off the very big menu as they are my favourites. Very quick service, the satay skewers and beef sambal are fabulous! Lovely smiling young staff!

This is our takeaway Tuesday, the food is great we love it. When they are busy the service is exceptionally slow, like really slow but is definitely worth the wait. Great Chinese and the staff that are there are always friendly, helpful and accommodating and try so hard.

The food is always fresh and very tasty. The dining room is family friendly. Service is usually good. They seem to have a high turnover of staff so service varies. The weekday lunch special is great value.
