Lowery's Seafood - TAPPAHANNOCK

My husband has fond memories of dining here as a child, and we’re pleased to see that the quality remains consistently high. The fried oysters are fresh, lightly battered, and simply melt in your mouth. He often compares oysters from other restaurants to Lowery's gold standard. My flounder was flavorful and cooked to perfection. We also appreciated the addition of sweet potatoes to the menu, which was a delightful touch. We hope that Lowery continues to serve the same outstanding food for many years to come.

I've never been a fan of buffets because the food often sits too long and ends up stale. However, I must admit that this was not the case here. Our group had half of our members choose the buffet, and the food was fresh and delightful. They offered regional specialties like spoon bread, hush puppies, and even frog legs. The prices were incredibly reasonable given the variety of dishes available. To top it all off, the buffet concluded with a vast array of fresh homemade cakes! I began my meal with their local oyster stew, which was absolutely fantastic, filled with oysters. I really wish I had ordered a bowl instead of just a cup! Then I tried the fried oysters, which were excellent—large, perfectly cooked, and not at all greasy. The service was friendly, making me feel more like I was at a friend’s house than in a restaurant. This place is truly a regional gem, and I can't wait to come back again and again!

Fried chicken was good , crab cakes were good. Service was good. I would prefer if they didn't have the TV on I constantly looked up at it.

Steamed shrimp was delicious. Hot, fresh and cooked perfectly. Staff was wonderful!

Omgoodness live the changes and the food is hit, fresh and so yummy. Loved the crab burger.
