Been coming here every summer for the last 20 years. There have been many owners during that time but the commitment to real ales has remained a constant. The latest owners have made a great start : excellent choice of reasonably priced, pub-friendly meals and an ongoing redesign of the beer garden. If you're in the area this is THE pub to visit.

We love this pub, been visiting it quite a lot over the past couple of years. The landlord and all the staff make it what it is. Warm welcome, lovely food and an excellent selection of real ales. The twice yearly beer festivals they host are well worth a visit. We've recently heard that for one reason or another the Star Inn has been put up for sale by the brewery. Not good news ! It would be a great shame to see the landlord/lady go after all the hard work they have put in over the years. They have made it what it is today, a great pub that people return to time after time ....
