Contribuiți la feedbackLet me start off by saying, we really wanted this place to work out. Since my coworkers and I are from out of state, we?ll decided to celebrate monthly birthdays with cakes. We found a list with ?top bakeries in Tallahassee ? and this month decided to try Trevas last month it was SoDough). Anyway Called to order a cake for an office party on Tuesday 4/9 to be picked up for next day. Have specific instructions NOT to include chocolate because someone was allergic, go to pick up the cake and the ?Happy Birthday ?was chocolate lettering on a piece of ribbon. I asked the assistant/cash girl if the lettering could be redo to reflect the request, she left to get the manager/owner not sure who the irate woman was). She returned as I was filling out a ?service review form?, and he?ll broke loose. All I was asking for was for the ribbon to be removed and the Birthday writing be written in anything accept chocolate....she threatened to take the cake back, giving me TWO options: take the entire cake back OR take it plain without writing she yanked the ribbon off). She takes the box from me and open the register to refund me which I didn?t ask for, I needed the cake same day). I grabbed the cake and darted to the door, went to the nearest Walmart and grabbed some icing to decorate it myself. I will say that of all the local bakeries I?ve ordered from in the past few months, this was by far the WORST experience, I was shaken up the rest of the day by her behavior and audacity to not even try to just change something as simple as the writing. I plan on going back up there and talking to her about this fiasco. Pics are attached.
Just became neighbors with this quaint little pastry shop and finding that it?s fast becoming a favorite spot for a tasty bite. From buttery croissants topped with tarragon chicken salad to warm delectable ?daily special? sandwiches filled with flavorful meats and melted cheeses, there is truly something for every palate. Oh and the desserts, well let?s just say they?re not only pretty to look at displayed proudly in a tidy white pastry case, they taste quite lovely too!!
My family loved this cookie tart so much and I can?t wait to go back! The staff was courteous and responsive on top of an informative website with listed prices.
No mask required on the staff, which is a bit disturbing in these times. Regardless, the pastry was dry, over-buttered and surprisingly mundane after what I have read for reviews. The guava and cheese pastry had a slice of guava paste (such as Conchita) and not fruit, nor even reworked, just a slice off the block on top of some cubes of cheese. Neither of these had lost their shape in baking and were easily visible intact after removal of the dry and crumbly pastry. We tried a simple cookie and found it much the same and again dry and over buttered. We will probably try again as it might just be a bad day, but considering the price and less than warm owner I am not so sure. Beware, if you actually have some experience with quality bakeries, and not just looking for the ?best? in Tallahassee.
I?ve been drooling over Trevas Bakery Instagram posts. I finally made it there yesterday. This absolutely wonderful place. I tried the fresh out of oven bake Stromboli, and ham and cheese croissant. Super yummy just melt in your mouth. Super nice staff, package beautifully. They have a great selection of premade take home a eat food, Curry Chicken, Macaroni and cheese, yummy sounding soups and much much more. I?m looking forward to trying some in the near future. I highly recommend!!!
