Contribuiți la feedbackI 've been here before bagels are great. Customer Service, meh. I 've had egg creams before like them. Knew egg cream was on the menu so we were in Collegetown for lunch I wanted to try it again. So before we left the area I went in, ordered was handed an empty cup. I had to ask what I was supposed to do. The cashier wasn 't quite sure had to ask the manager. Pulled out a gallon milk container, showed me where the chocolate syrup soda water was. Mind you I 've never made one of these so I had NO idea what I was doing. The cashier said they had had a 'how to ' on the wall but it seems to have disappeared. Ended up just throwing it all away coz l didn 't want to spend anymore tine trying to 'figure it out yourself ' food in a restaurant.
My friends and I saw that there was a deal for 13 bagels for only $6.50. Sounds like a great deal, right? So my friend visited this Brooklyn Water Bagels and experienced a lot of problems. First, AFTER she had mentioned the deal, and that it was happening at this location, the cashier charged her for the price 13 bagels usually comes out to. She told them their error, and the manager had to sort it out and give her a refund. Then the cashier had the audacity to tell her she needed to say she had a coupon before he rings her up... which she did. When my friend came back, we came to find out Brooklyn had only given us 12 bagels, and they also messed up our order. They gave us the wrong bagels, even though the cashier had a list of the bagels we were supposed to get. Then I looked at the bagels. They were cut HORRIBLY. They weren't split like normal bagels, just look at my picture. On top of that, their cinnamon raisin bagel was not tasty. I didn't even finish it because of how it tasted. The plain bagel was decent, but then again I think it's pretty hard to ruin a plain bagel... I'm not sure if I ever want to come back to this bagel place, and I definitely don't recommend it... Go to Einstein or some other bagel place!
Best bagels in Tally!! Super spacious restaurant with the charm of an open kitchen that means you can catch bagels being made, water being purified, etc. There are two things about BWB that really steal my heart: great coffee and (whole wheat scooped bagels. Coffee Their regular coffee is a bit strong for me they have a blend that is a bit lower key that doesn't leave me over caffeinated and jumpy ; Scooped (whole wheat bagels!! Whole wheat bagels at other places (i.e. Panera translate to slightly tough, tinier bagels. BWB does a whole wheat everything bagel that I honestly DREAM about. Also unlike other area bagel shops, they scoop their bagels! Pair the everything up with some jalapeno cream cheese best combination. A few things to note: it gets slammed in the blink of an eye. I've been there when it's empty and by the time I'm getting my order, the line is to the door. But, the line moves quick and the staff are quick! They are heavy handed with the cream cheese. No complaints here, but if you're a fan of lighter cream cheese, maybe get it on the side. Seating inside and outside. Parking is metered on the street in front and the lot on the side of the restaurant is free. When I'm popping in for a to go order, I don't bother with the meters and have never had an issue!
Giving this one a generous four stars. I state it that way because while the bagels were really great, the experience was kinda meh.I rounded up because the place was under construction for an add on and I have to assume it makes for a crazy environment. Lets review this visit, shall we? Met a group of friends here for breakfast. As noted before, the place had a huge chunk in the middle sealed off for construction. No biggie. Made my way to the counter to order. Their assortment of bagels appeared broad enough, but they were missing my favorite egg bagel seems to typical for Tallahassee. The menu had some cool pre made sandwich, but I was looking for a bagel, cream cheese, white onion and lox. No white onion, only red. Okay, fine I 'll take their lox sandwich hold the tomato. As I am ordering, someone returns to the counter stating that all their tea dispensers ere out of order . The girl at the counter looked confused and said she knew one was out, but both? Confirmed, both are out. She seemed baffled. They swapped out the cup for the customer to a coffee and away she went. I finish my order and go to the soda fountains (they have one on each side) several taps from each side wee showing out of order . Thankfully Coke Zero on one side still worked! Food, as I wrote above, was really good. No complaints with the product at all. Music. You have to be kidding me. It was loud and, how do I put this, I felt like i was taking my daughter to Justice to buy clothes. Didn 't fit the environment at all. Our two table could barely hear each other. Strangely enough, it seemed to get louder as the crowds increased around 10am. I will be back, likely to eat outside or get a dozen bagels to go. Will be nice to also see how this operated after the construction zone is cleaned up and things are back to normal inside.
In this review, I will focus exclusively on the bagels, rather than the pizza. The restaurant, with its spacious layout, is perfect for the college crowd. As you enter, you can watch the bagel-making process through a large glass window. The staff member who served me was friendly and offered excellent customer service. I ordered the Brooklyn Sandwich, and wow, it was not only tasty but also impressively large. This breakfast sandwich was a true giant, packed with fresh eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, and melting cheese. The plain bagel itself was simply delightful. Do they really import their water from New York? It certainly tastes like it! The coffee is smooth as well—definitely try their iced coffee with iced coffee cubes. Overall, it's slightly more expensive than many places in town, averaging around $10 for breakfast. However, trust me, you'll get your money's worth for those extra few dollars. I'll certainly be making the trip to this part of town for my morning boost from now on. Brooklyn pride!
