Zhen De Coffee - Taipei

I used to really enjoy this restaurant and their food when they had vegan options, but unfortunately they are no longer vegan-friendly. I have no issue with vegetarian restaurants as long as they are transparent about what is vegan and what is not, but unfortunately that was not the case during my last visit to Zhen De. I was told that the blueberry cheesecake and tropical island cheesecake were vegan (spoiler alert: they are not) when I inquired about vegan dessert options. I even checked with a staff member before ordering the blueberry cheesecake, who confirmed that it was vegan. However, upon tasting it, I immediately knew it was not vegan. When I asked again, I was told it was made with white chocolate, which I was assured was vegan. Despite asking multiple times and even reaching out to a friend who worked there for confirmation, it turns out that the cake was not vegan. This was a very disappointing experience for me in Taiwan. I hope that they will improve in the future!

Zhen De Coffee used to offer only vegan options, but they have recently added many milk products for customers who need them. While it is still a vegetarian restaurant that is superior to meat-serving establishments, I personally have reservations about supporting a business that is moving away from its original principles. My last visit was enjoyable, with delicious iceless sandwiches and vegan options, so I cannot fault the quality of the food and drinks. It ultimately comes down to your own decision whether or not to support them. This review has been updated from a previous one made on July 11, 2017.

I visited this restaurant to try their famous sandwich and it was extremely delicious. I ordered the garlic sandwich, and if you love garlic, you should definitely give it a try. However, my friend who wasn't hungry had to know that if they wanted to sit in the restaurant, they needed to order something. I suggested they wait outside, but the staff allowed them to stay this time. Unfortunately, the staff was quite unfriendly and didn't even say goodbye, despite me telling them the food was delicious. This will be my first and last visit to this restaurant.

A lovely cafe that you can chill and relax, or even just to work on your laptop. Discount for ordering second drink. However, the cappuccino is not as great as I expected. Surprisingly their Japanese Fried Noodle was very delicious.

This caffe is a vegan fortification for years to go the place when they have to do something work, along with a drink and delicious sandwich. it was especially good when over animals was close (it is moved over taipei) but they started serving milk milk, and they can soon also serve non-vegan products on their menu. it is therefore worth considering whether they are in the opposite and need a nice caffe for work (most caffes don’t serve-vegans), but it is no longer something special, so I would no longer go out of their way to visit here.
