I can think of three times I’ve gone there during normal hours only to find them closed with some hand written note on the door saying they’re closed for the day or week or whatever. I’ve learned my lesson. Won’t be going there anymore.
My favorite Vietnamese place! I usually get the I can 't make up my mind rice plate but request them to take out the chicken and replace it with pork. It 's $30 before tax tip with 3 times the meat portions of the other regular rice plates and the pork and beef are A M A Z I N G. The pork and beef-kalbi are seasoned with lemongrass and... teriyaki or bbq sauce I think? And it 's accompanied by a large serving of rice, picked radish/carrots, lettuce, shredded cabbage, and a container of garlic-pepper-fish sauce. I 've also ordered the special beef pho; the meats are done just right and not over cooked, the tripe is crunchy, the tendon soft. The staff are very attentive and incredibly sweet. They seem to be family owned; I recognize the same faces whenever I come in and I come very often, and they 've given me a complementary soup broth bowl one day and the other day refilled my lemonade, and I really appreciate it. Generally you pay first at the counter then seat yourself, after which they bring out the drinks, then the food.
I cannot say enough about Thuy's and the folks who run it. I'm thrilled that they made it through the chaos that was 2020-2022. I don't have many favorite places; my logic being that if you lock yourself into a favorite, you limit yourself from finding new places that may be even better. Thuy's is one of my exceptions. I've been patronizing their business for a couple years now, and have not once felt like my order was flawed in any way shape or form. The food is always fresh and plentiful, and the family running the restaurant are incredibly nice. My go-to is the large chicken pho with extra chili oil. It's the epitome of comfort food, and is a guaranteed pick-me-up if I'm feeling run down. My better half loves the short rib vermicelli and spring rolls. The menu has a nice variety of dishes, so there's little chance that you'll not be able to find something excellent. Go see em. Dine in. This place is a gem and deserves all the love it can get.
The hard wood chairs are uncomfortable. The prices are expensive. They charge $3 for a can of soda. The peanut sauce was thin and runny. Dinner for two was $75 and they make you stand at the counter to order your food. This used to be my favorite Pho place but that has now changed.
My husband and I LOVE pho so we like to try out different places — this one did not disappoint. The owners and staff were super friendly— their pho was delicious and tasted very authentic and homemade, their meat quality was yummy and their coffee was great! We’ll definitely be back when we’re in the area 10/10 would recommend!
