Fish Friar - Syracuse

Went to the Fish Friar recently the remodel looks great. Tried out one of the fancy new house cocktails very nice to look at, and strong too. Our server Maria was sweet, effervescent, and knowledgeable about the menu. We loved her! There was a special that night of lobster rolls we got one cold with the lemony mayo, and one warm with butter. I liked the cold better the lemon mayo went excellent with the lobster. We also shared a basket of fries that were perfectly crisp. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't offer desserts, but was told that its something they are working on in the future. I cant wait to come back!

This is a record from a little while ago. It was our first visit. I ordered restaurant's signature fish chips. The haddock meat was soft not dry at all, the batter was crispy, and the oil was not tasting oxidized. There are more different types of seafood dishes on the menu, and I would like to try something else next time! Btw the restaurant's interior was also cute!

Scallops for the wine. Great beer and wine selection. Atmosphere is amazing for a date night. I am a pescatarian. So fish us my thing. The fish and chips are okay. FF are just FF and so is the haddock. The breading had little to no flavor. I hope they rethink the breading. The fried shrimp was also meh....

This place is very tasty. The menu has some very good options. The service is friendly. The beer choices are very extensive. We just dined in for the first time. We'd always done take out. If you are in the mood for fried fish or seafood this is a great choice.

The haddock is the best. They have a really good selection of wine for the price. I love the cosy candle-fairy light ambience. Staff is charming, had a great time. Also, this is totally your savior if you are in a big group wanting to get dinner in syracuse without a reservation.
