Contribuiți la feedbackWow. This may be up there with my worst experience at a restaurant ever. We waited 15 mins to even see a server after seating ourselves. There weren't more than 4 tables including us the entire time and it was absolutely the worst service we have ever had. We ordered breakfast and we were told they were out of breakfast potatoes so we ordered a different breakfast dish, only to be told 10 minutes later they weren't serving breakfast. We then ordered lunch, and 15 minutes after we ordered she came to tell us they were out of corned beef. At this point, we asked for the bill to cover my son's food (thankfully he got to eat) and we were told they my husband's was already finished so we asked for it to go .... only to wait 20 more minutes for it to never come out. When it finally came out, the server gave a pathetic apology and kept saying how hectic it was ... with all of their 10 customers they had while we were there?!? Guess they didn't want to miss out on the $21 for a burger. We are so disappointed. Don't go here.
Came on a Saturday for a lunch with family. One party of 5 was seated in advance of our arrival and had already placed their order. With having two cooks and two servers, and it being “slow” the time it took to get our order was impressively slow. Additionally, the bread of my Reuben sandwich was only grilled on one side.
I should have known not to stay. Walked in 5 days before Christmas and there was 1 other table of customers at lunchtime. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that came with a handful of chips for $14.
I've been here a few times since it's been open and every time has been a disappointment. I guess I always assumed it would eventually get on par with the downtown Toledo location (which is excellent on all fronts) after they worked the kinks out of things and got into their groove so that's why I've given it multiple attempts. My food the first couple times was fine but not as good as the DT Toledo spot and the service here is severely lacking. The last time I went with several other family members, they were practically empty, and it took so long for us to get any help with anything that we eventually gave up and left without eating. People's reviews aren't one-off personal experiences...it's truth in numbers. The place can be practically empty and theyre sluggish as hell and often don't have items on the menu. Also, just my opinion, but the vibe of the place is cold and sterile. You can tell their going for a light and modern feel probably because it's a narrow little place, which is logical, but it completely misses the mark in my opinion...enough so that it actually feels uncomfortable being in their (just my personal feeling). If I ever go back...I'm just getting take out.
A Sunday afternoon we called around 12:40pm to order a Grumpy’s salad To-Go. The waitress was unsure, if it was available. She checked and it was. We picked our salad up around 1pm got home and realized they gave us no dressing. This salad cost $17.50 for that price you should get 2 containers of dressing. Anyways I tried calling at 1:20pm to let them know my husband would be coming to pick up dressing no answer. My husband than had to go knock on the door to get poppyseed dressing this was 1:25pm. They are supposed to close at 2pm. The waitress answered said they closed early and they were running out of dressing not sure if they had any. She came back with a half filled cup and said that was all they had. My husband gets home dumps the salad into a bowl and finds rotten spinach. I reached out to Grumpy’s on Sunday through their site never heard anything and it is 3 days later. Also we got charged sales tax on a food To-Go order is that normal. We live in downtown Sylvania and I want to like Grumpy’s, but cannot due to the high prices, average food, and lack of customer service on a management level.
