Jordbærstova - Sylte

During our stay at a nearby hotel, the owner recommended a restaurant known for its delicious strawberry cake. As we made our way there, we couldn't help but notice the fields filled with strawberries surrounding us. We ordered a slice and were surprised by its size – it was more like a mini cake! The layers were moist with fresh strawberries and topped with even more fresh strawberry jam. It was truly the best strawberry cake I have ever had, and quite possibly the best cake I have ever tried. Period.

This restaurant, known as the Strawberry House or Strawberry Room, specializes in strawberries but falls short in delivering a satisfying experience. Located in a strawberry-growing area, the decor is somewhat pretty with blond wood and historic art. However, the ambiance is ruined by a soft rock soundtrack. We ordered a strawberry cake and coffee, but were disappointed with the lack of fruit in the cake - just one strawberry inside and another halved as decoration. The sauce was lackluster and the coffee was weak. Additionally, the prices for coffee refills were higher than expected. Overall, we were underwhelmed and will be looking for a different place for coffee and cake.
