Sushi Hotaru Sake Bar - Sydney

Good value, for the price they pay the quality is really good. service was ok, but they were fast! would repeat it.

We came across this restaurant while searching for sushi in Sydney. We had heard about it several times before and finally got the chance to try it out. The restaurant has a sushi-style atmosphere, but the sushi is freshly made to order right in front of you. The prices are great for the quality of food you get, and the hand rolls are a must-try, especially the soft shell crab roll. We are already planning to come back for my partner's birthday on Sunday. Can't wait!

I have visited this restaurant several times and the sushi is some of the best I have had in Sydney. The prices are average and the wait for a table is reasonable compared to other sushi places. I highly recommend it.

We were spontaneous customers, completely unplanned, as we stumbled upon this place on a whim without any prior research. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised (especially by the prices!) Although we arrived close to closing time for the kitchen, there wasn't much left on the sushi conveyor belt, so we had to order dishes from the touch screen menu instead (which ensured they were freshly made and not sitting out for long).

We were just passing by, my daughter wanted sushi, so this was a spontaneous visit... Never been to this place before. The staff are actually Japanese, not Korean like in so many Sushi businesses... The staff were polite and friendly. The place was quiet as...this was around 5pm, too early for most people to have dinner. We had a couple of items from the train and I ordered 3 dishes from the touch screen menu crab balls (my favourite), creamy crab croquet (turned out to be made from flour, contains no crab at all falsely advertised) and a salmon hand roll (too small and not as good as in some places we've been to). My daughter had strawberry mochi delicious and fresh, we had an orange juice reasonably priced at $3.50 compared to many places that charge $5 for soft drinks... Overall a good experience. The ordering screen was positioned too far from the seating area, so i had to lean in to order one definite problem for anyone with back pain... For 5 plates and a juice dessert we paid $27, so good value.
