Sir Allen Taylor Co - Sydney

A new incarnation of the restaurant on the corner of Taylor Square. The last one, Coco Cubano, lasted for a fair few years, and before that, it was, um, Cafe 191, perhaps?  No matter what incarnation, it’s a good place to look down Oxford Street from Taylor Square, an iconic Sydney view, and the name, appropriately, comes from the 43rd Lord Mayor of Sydney, in office from 1905 to 1906, whose name was bequeathed upon the square, er, triangle.

Relaxing cafe located at the city centre. Love the open venue really lets the natural light shine through. Highly recommend getting the beef brisket and waffles. <br/ (Came with 50% off Dimmi deal)

Oh my god, the crepes here are amazing, I'm not mental about lentils but they are damn good here.Found this place as I work nearby their other venue in the rocks (kansas city shuffle) the food here is just as good and the service is friendly and efficient.

Went here for lunch with some friends upon their suggestions being a central location to us all. It is on the corner of Taylor square in the old Coco Cubano. Lots of outdoor seating and a raised indoor part with a stylish bar. We sat outside, but it would preferable to sit inside as there’s lots of panhandlers around. The staff dealt with this well. The menu has brunch and lunch options and a really super good range of cocktails and I would be interested to have drinks there. However we were there for a weekday lunch and drinks were not a good idea in a work time. We ordered the pulled pork burger on a soft brioche, the lentil crepe on lab meh and the crispy chicken burger with some nicely seasoned fries. The food was all great but expensive for the size, ie the lentil crepe and burger was $22. It would be better placed at around $16. We had a red velvet latte, I think a healthier version than the creamier one I’m used to so I wasn’t a fan, but others might be. The staff were all extremely nice and food came out fast.
