Sea Bay - Sydney

In spite of the business name, Sea Bay is not a seafood restaurant as the name would suggest.

Heading to a concert at the Metro and wanted to start the evening off with some dumplings and BYO beverages.

Service was terrible. We ordered vegetarian dumplings each and the waitress forgot what we ordered twice before she got to the kitchen. It is a small restaurant. We were the only 2 in the restaurant. Maybe that should have been an indication how bad our experience was going to be. The dumplings finally arrived 40 minutes later and they looked terrible and tasted awful. We left, one of the staff laughed when she took our money, and one at least gave us back our money. The only positive in our experience there. Sydney has a lot more to offer than this horrible place.

The first time we ate their sweet and sour pork we loved it and thought this was really good Chinese cooking. Sadly the last two times we tried we were very disappointed as I found the key ingredients to make it a good dish - Chinese cooking wine and vinegar were missing. Is it cost cutting or different cook? What we had was a bland pork dish with only sweet taste in it. We had the leftovers take home and I will re-cook it again with our cooking wine and vinegar and prove how a genuine Chinese cooking should be!
