One Six One - Sydney

I had been going there quite often. The food was awesome. I was informed that the management recently changed. The was great under the old management (with plenty of options). The new menu offers limited items. The burger and Kale Caesar salad are alright. It would be good to see the old menu again

Unfortunately, this was the only restaurant we could get a seat at for breakfast on a week day. Now we know why. We weren't greeted until we had stood awkwardly in the cafe waiting to be approached. When we were seated we weren't offered any menu's and left to discover that we were required to order at the counter with the takeaway coffee orders. We ordered and paid for our food separately within our group. Chai tea came out as Chai Latte's..............both separately ordered so wrong twice. A burger which was drowned in sauce as if the lid had come off the bottle.... I got french toast which had mushy and either frozen or old strawberries on it .The female staff member that delivered our food was very rude and abrupt, so much so that we were frightened to ask for any further service. There was a lovely fair, short blonde haired staff member that was very pleasant, helpful and polite. Thank you we noticed you.

Nothing bothers me more than simple things that could make an experience so much better. First of all the service was great. Order at the counter type setup. The main part was that the meals were pretty good, no issues there and the coffees were ok. Our cutlery was given to us in kits like you would get on an airplane so you unwrap and little satchels of salt and pepper fall out. Tacky.

I had both breakfast & lunch here 2 days in a row when I worked in Sydney CBD for a week. The breakfast was great and not too pricey. I had 2 poached eggs on toast with crispy bacon and avocado plus a latte. Very well cooked eggs and bacon, ripe and tasty avocado, real butter served on the side. Coffee was really good. Service was quick and it's clean. I also had the regular lunch there where you can pick 2 choices of meats and 3 choices of salads/veggies. Both days I chose pork belly and chicken as my meats and steamed veggies, roast veggies and also greek salad. A huge plate with a huge amount of food. I could only finish a third of all that food! Price for lunch was 14 dollars so very good value for money. The food is really fresh and it's nice and clean and the service is very efficient! Highly recommended!

Hidden in a little corporate alley right next to the hotel we were staying at.There was great outdoor seating that we took advantage of after ordering at the counter. We got the salmon with toast and fried eggs dish and the bacon, fried egg and toast dish...both were excellent. Extremely fresh, tasty and flavorful- can't find a single thing to complain about. We also got flat white coffee which was one of the better ones I've had.
