However, at $9 for a decent seafood laksa, which can complain? as they would expect, it is not exactly packed with real seafood (I have counted a gar), but the broth was delicious and the noodles were well cooked. a good lunch in the city.
I was looking for a good laksa in sydney cbd. lee malaysian was very good until recently changed her suppening base and I always had jimmys recipe, although it was not to my taste. then I found this place in hunter connection and I was so happy after I had tried her seafood laksa! it is definitiw not as crowded as the one directly at the floor the escalators in hunter connection (which I tried and found it too oily) but the suppenbase in malaysian food house is perfect! I loved the laksa at the unsw food court near the main library and had it every week while I was student there. this is quite similar thick suppening base, but only less sharp. they have a whole tablet of chili...read more
Very nice people who run the place! they are friendly and serve a very common nasi goreng that is my first time when I try the Hainan chicken rice in laksa, traditionally served with the steam/hoea, but decided for the crispy chicken. the chicken was brown, but the absolute polar opposite of crispy. it was almost the steam chicken in soy sauce. the reis was great! fragrant, bright and aromatic ingwer. for $8.80 it is a great part and satisfying.
One of the absolute hotspots for lunch in sydney cbd! near wynyard station john Hunter/Hunter connection subway added, the place is not much to see and some could even consider it dirty, but don't let them look fool them! the food here is absolutely delicious, especially made to order meals the price is a higher one, considering that eating hot comes out of the wok. they are never shy in portion and in consideration, how busy this place I imagine that the ingredients are created fresh on a regular basis the couple that leads the place is extremely friendly and accommodating. every meal comes with a friendly smile and never a bad day My...read more
Most restaurants serve their laksa with part egg noodles and part rice vermicelli I guessed the restaurant had ran out of egg noodles for the day for my laksa had only rice vermicelli (Su Wei had a few strands of egg noodles). With only a single prawn, two slices of fish cake, a fish ball, a stick of surimi and two tofu puffs, I felt the dish lacked ingredients to justify it being a seafood laksa (it needed more seafood).
