We ordered the fish pot with additional noodles and vegetables, which was meant to be a wholesome dish perfect for sharing with friends on a cold winter night. It is similar to a hot pot, but with the benefit of not having to cook it yourself. However, on this occasion, the fish was overcooked and broken up, making it difficult to enjoy as pieces were hard to find.
The staff at this restaurant are friendly and very helpful. It seems like they are the only ones working when I visited, but they provided excellent service even though the place closes at 2pm. The fish pot dish allows you to choose the type of fish and level of spiciness, all for a very reasonable price of $50 for the whole pot. I also tried the malashanguo, where you select your ingredients and they stir-fry it in Szechuan style cooking. Lastly, I sampled their spicy chicken which was not too spicy for me, but may be for some. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a try!
Great food and great price! A bit cheaper than Xi'An Grill for the same fish and flavours. However the service there is terrible (Chinese people who give you attitude and they don't listen to you the first time you request something). It took more than 15 minutes to get the bill. Good thing about this place is that it opens till 2am on the weekend, great for a midnight feast.
Highlighted as a midnight restaurant opening until 2am, Charcoal Fish has been the place I go quite frequently after badminton : You know, at 11:30ish, most places are closing or closed and I believe that every Chinese restaurant is better than Macca's no matter how bad its food is.<br/ <br/ It tastes good but salty without rice plus its fish is really small in size : <br/ <br/
