Had an enjoyable experience at Bavarian Bier Cafe. Great for large groups! We got the platters to share and the servings were generous. Pork belly and crispy pork knuckle was amazing. Make sure you try the mango weissbier!
Pork knuckles and beer, nothing to compare! The deco is modern, the location is 5 mins from townhall station. They served really quick even there were a lot of people there.
Heard about this chian restaurant many times and finally got the chance to try it out. The service was quick and friendly. We got a table where was warm and comfortable. A lot of people dinning in so it was really noisy. The food, my bf and I ordered the famous signature dish, crispy pork knuckle. It was nice when we had the first two or three bites. And then it went boring. The meat wasn't marinated or seasoned, I liked the natural flavor of the meat but it got you bored after a while. The inner part of the meat was quite dry and chewy. I mean, really dry. I understand it's hard to cook such a big portion of meat tender and juicy, and maybe this is the traditional Germany way to cook it, but honestly I wouldn't order it for the second time. The beer there was supposed to be really nice, but neither of us drink so don't really have a chance to try the alcohol.
Bar staff try hard not to make eye contact, quiet afternoon, 3 bar staff, still stood for 10 minutes at bar without service, eventually gave up. It was only the waitress who served us that saved the business, we had to order our drinks through her. Pretzel was warm and tasty, pork knuckle was as expected and authentic. I would recommend the food, however, staff need to be advised they are there for the customers, not to be social with each other.
