Bite of Asia - Sydney

We ate here a while back and while the service was great and the atmosphere was nice the food was edible but it just breaks my heart that whoever is cooking or designing the recipes seems not to have ever tried authentic versions. My main memory of the meal was the pad thai. I've eaten pad thai at countless restaurants all over the world and of course expect a great deal of variation. Some are sweeter than others (palm sugar is essential). Some have more of a brininess from the dried shrimp and fish sauce. The list of flavor elements and their prominence in the dish goes on and on. Sadly the pad thai at Bite of Asia more closely resembled noodles seasoned with ketchup (I am convinced there was ketchup in them). If maybe the chef would even do a google image search of pad thai. It is I'm sure a difficult dish to make let alone master but please give it a try. Spend a few weeks trying or better yet make a trip to a metropolis with many many Thai restaurants and sample the food and get some tips. Good Asian food in Sydney would be an absolute gem. Please work on it.

We are traveling Nova Scotia so we have eaten lots of seafood and we are ready for something different. I had hot and sour soup and veg stir fry, very good. My husband had pad thai shrimp, it was real good with a tiny bit a zing.The waitress was very helpful.The place was clean.total 39.94ca

Great Chinese and Thai food. You know it is freshly made on your first bite. You can't just eat one egg roll or spring roll because you have to devour every last speck of the homemade plum sauce. We have never left here with our a doggy bag, but NOT for the dog, for your own lunch or supper the next day. The presentation great, and don't forget to order tea served in fabulous Chinese servers. Truly the best Chinese food in Sydney!

I love this recent addition to the dining scene in Sydney. Even though it is a bit farther away than our local "Chinese" restaurant, we often make the drive to Bite of Asia for their delicious dishes. I also love the Thai options on the menu. The Pad Thai is my favourite!

So I gave this place two tries before writing this reviewThe first time I went I was craving Thai food.
